Bigger oil filter works nice!
Well I decided (don't ask why) to change the oil again on the Duke. This will, in fact, be the....... 3rd time in two years of owning it. Yeah, neglegent, I know, but I am on a rigid burn/replace oil regement. Anyways, I got the bigger filter from the early model VW diesels - works fine on the 4cyl. except you'll need to remove the wire bracket that holds the Power steering line, bend it, and replace it out of the way of the big **** filter. I'm running Delvac for the first time too, we'll see how well it works, at 7.99 a gallon, I'm not going to complain, plus it's alot thinner than I thought. I thought 15w40 would be like gear oil - looks more lke 5w30! So, for today.... Oil change, car wash... Mark it down folks, it happens about once a year!

Treat the Duke with a trip computer! Did you see the thread I made for you and Iskolnick....? Maybe you can still make it work? Just get the switch that goes on the console. Wire the console switch up and the three wires to the MAF and that should be it. How did that oil look when it came out(black, frothy, etc.)?;-) When do you think you can make a trip to the old junk yard again? I just replaced the bulbs in the shift display, took the green inserts out of the blinkers and put some red "foil"(stuff I got from another audi cluster that matches well, and put another buzzer in (other one started buzzing on it's own). I was going to wait to do this stuff when I get the trip board but I couldn't resist. Now the red blinkers in the cluster it all lights up red. I might snap a few picks for ya'll to see!;-)

Well, I don't have a MAF (CIS), and I think I'm gonna pass on the trip comp, I need to rebuild my engine first :-) I'll let you know as soon as I can get to the yard. So the reset button is located with all the other switches above the radio?

Bigger oil filter means more oil capacity (considering most Audi/VW is 4 quarts or less) and a bit more filter element as well. Not a bad deal for the same price as the regular oil filter.

We were on the Western side of Isabel as she approached. The west side of the eye passed over my house. We had winds only gusting to 60mph.
No damage to house. Alot of small tree limbs, and leaves, thats all. The rain was not really bad either. For us Isabel wasnt that bad! :O)
