Default some information about a car

i'm thinking of purchasing a car, an audi, but i don't really know much about it. it's an '88, four door, 5-speed manual. that's about all i know. i'll post a picture if it helps, but i was just wondering if anyone could fill me in on any common problems with that year of the car. thanks.

Default Why would you buy a FWD Audi?

When you can buy a RWD BMW.

Default LOL, you gotta be kidding me.

>>because Audi engines don't start burning oil<<

Neither brand has an advantage in this dept.

>>+ 5 cyl over 4...<<

Try 6cyl over 5cyl. It takes a turbo or 4 valve head on a I5 to match what a 12 valve, naturally aspirated BMW straight six can do.

Default If you want snow performance, why get FWD and not quattro?

Weight in the trunk and snow tires beats FWD and snowtires.

BMW's are better balanced with the engine tucked between the strut towers--not completely in front of the front axle.

BMW engines are more powerful.

325e vs. 90 2.3 10v (NG)

BMW: 127hp, 181ft.lbs, 35 mpg.
Audi: 130hp, 140ft.lbs, 30mpg.

325i vs. 90 2.3 20v (7a)
BMW: 168hp, 160ft.lbs, 30mpg.
Audi: 164hp, 157ft.lbs, 22mpg.

Trunk capacity:

BMW E30 325i/e: 15cu.ft
Audi: 8.1cu. ft, 10.1 if you don't have quattro.

LOL.
