paint, and yes it does give something:-)
Today I just took the whole piece off and the car felt much smoother, and power would come on earlier.
I am talking about that dead spot from 2-3K rpm, now it really pulls
I don't want to put that piece back on, lol
What did u use to cut out that hole?

that prompted me to do the "MikTip Mod" as well after running for an hour with the trim piece off. But it would look tacky on a bright car so I cut the hole.
I just used a regular drill to start the holes and dremel after.

yes and no! just my stock middle piping which was so low and close to the ground that it scrapes when not careful climbing up my steep driveway. So I had a local shop customized a piping that is tucked way up close to the body and away from the ground. No more scraping now...This is also in preparation for lowering the car sometime soon.. 
And no more fart/sulfur smell due to some exhaust leak on the stock piping.
