5 cylinder, 20 valve
I personally don't know why Audi ditched the I5's in favor of the 1.8T and their V6/V8 line. Many argue the 20V I5's were the last great Audi engines made, and in most respects, they are.
This is one of the few examples of something good being stopped, which doesn't happen much in Automotive - I can see your logic but never fear!
I've also had a sticky idle stabilizer valve but that just needed some repeated cleaning with some harsh fluids.
Other than that, rubber vaccum hoses can go bad and need replacement.
And the usual tuneup stuff helps (Plugwires, plugs)
Bosch come in boxes of 10.
Bosch Plat +4 come ins a box of 8.
AC, Champion, Autolite, Motocraft come in boxes of 8.
NGK, Denso, and Splitfire come in boxes of 4. Some NGK small engine plugs come in boxes of 10.
That's probably what he's referring to. I think that's most of what I remember from my three years at Autozone :-)
