Rattling/Ticking

Hi,

Well I can't seem to find the source of the problem. But while I'm driving my car it always make this loud annoying rattling/ticking noise, the harder I accelerate the worse. I thought it was the CAT but its not that and it doesn't sound like its coming from the lifters. It only does it while I'm driving though, when I try hitting the gas while Idling it won't make the noise. Any ideas on what else it could be?

What year? Heat shields tight?

Part of my old cats are stuck in my muffler which makes a rattling noise...

i have the same problem....

try the spray shield thing behind the rotors, slam the door a couple times or hit each tire to see if it rattles then, thats how I found mine and sure enough one was lose. also does the noise get worse when your next to another car or next to a wall?

Yeah it gets worse next to a wall or car, probably just because sound bouncing off though

Thanks for the help though, Ill check the spray shield?? Are they something you replace or bend into shape or what? Thanks

I posted the same problem awhile ago....

and I was told just to tighten the bolt but to get to the bolt you have to take the rotor off.

i agree, totally check the exhaust heat shield. i had the same problem. try just starting from park with the door open and going a few feet, but hit the accelerator with some force so it's pretty loud. if it sounds like it's coming from beneath, it's most likely the heat shield.
