Just got my first Audi - Ignition Coil question.
I am going about replacing wires/plugs/cap/rotor and wanted to replace teh coil also. Do any aftermarket units work or is this somthign special? Can I just wire up an MSD blaster2 and go?
The car is a 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20v

Did you also have a 944 that you were selling/sold?
If so, welcome back to the fold ;-)
Anyway, I don't think I'd worry about the coil, generally no problems with them, and a 7A isn't going to make enough power to warrant uprating it.
Wires, Magnecor's are nice and cheaper than OE (7mm or 8mm, the 8.5's and 10's don't fit the factory holders well at all). I use them. Plugs, stick with Bosch F6DTC copper tri-electrodes. Cap/rotor, again, stick with Bosch bits.

Hey Cuatrokoop... where's your fav source for Magnacores?
I've used Performance Motor Cars and Import Parts Authority, but don't think they have Magnacores....
Have the Bosch F6DTC copper trielectrodes worked better than OEM "normal" plugs? I had a little engine miss today... could be plugs, cuz the rest is pretty new.

Yeah that was me - 944 is gone.
I already did bosch cap/rotor/plugs I was going to replace the coil just "because" and I will probably go with Kingsborne wires.

It was a trade for a 1987 Porsche 944 N/A in Fiar condition.
This car is immaculate, but has higher mileage - will all records, dealer servicedm etc.
209,000 miles to be exact.

Yes but at what age does it fail? I am not concerned about HP as I already have a pretty potent track-mobile 
If I want some power I may eventually turbo the 90, but not any time soon.
