My car started to vibrate alot today...
I was on the highway and when I got up to about 80mph, the entire car was shaking somewhat violently. I've recently had the alignment checked, but it was within spec, so I've ruled that out. What other items could be suspect?

Sometimes, a wheel weight will come off, shortly after ...
so, have your new tires rebalanced. It is not uncommon for a wheel weight not to be fastened well, or to be loosened during the installation, then lost.
Esp if the front wheels are unbalanced, you will get a good vibration going at specific speeds - when you reach the harmonic vibration rotation for the particular misbalance.
Cheap fix and the thing to always have checked first!

anything like that, and I'd lift'er real quick and check things out
had a bud blow out a lower ball joint last weekend pulling into his driveway(97 GTI). had it happened ANYWHERE else, I'm sure it would've been real messy...
throw it up. check everything. try swapping the tires front to rear while its up...(unless you're closer to a tire store...to get them balanced)
