caplier question...

any calipers out there not as expensive as brembo but still aight for drivin around street and doin some track time?...porsche?..wilwood? any ideas or suggestions would be great...

Tip has good leads and BTDT on Wilwood.

i was lookin at wilwood...but u have to get brackets..i was just gonna make em otta aluminum!

and yes a BANDSAW!! i didnt spend hours making a pully system to gear down my bandsaw and buy the finest blade i can just so i can cut aluminum at the right RPM on my bandsaw for nothing!!

Porsche = Brembo. You can pick up a set of used Porsche calipers for $300, which usually including pads and shipping. However, most Posche calipers require a new carrier and different rotors.

I am assuming that you made your own hats and brackets...

also where did you get your coilovers, did you make them also? and are you happy with them?

Ask RPI if they can use the newest Wilwood caliper?

Its a more stiffer caliper, and flex's less. They are what I currently run on my 13" setup.

Mine were originally done by Vortrag, ditto for the suspension. I am making new hats and carriers, as I was never satisfied with the tendancy to warp rotors (non-floating rotors, rectifying that) and am VERY not happy with how the aluminum carriers "aged" after the 5 years or so of being on the car. Carriers are flaking away, not cool (were not properly treated, aka hard annodized).

Suspension, only complaint is that the race-spec springs were not coated properly for street use, so they rusted a bit. Similar setup to the Ground Control/2Bennett version.
