Any idea what that silver layer is in the "new" style vac. lines? Some sort of metal weave?

The problem with the original vac lines is the nylon braided stuff over the rubber hose makes it alot harder to find leaks.

And for some items, I'd prefer reusable wormdrive clamps.

So the moral of the story is to buy passat vac lines and use clamps? $4 dollars a foot is a bit pricey though. How many feet of vac lines are their in our audis?

I want to replace all my vac lines... how hard would it be to do?

Is it pretty easy to follow them throughout the engine bay? Where do you get the Passat vac lines?

Between 6-7 on a V6, not sure about 20v
