3b or AAN
If u go AAN u will also need dahlback racing or RS2 intake manifold.
3B can be found cheaper imho. That's all I know. Let's wait if somebody else has more to add.
maximum hp on the stock bottom end is probably in the 400hp region, if not above. however, most people will go with aftermarket rods when pushing high 300's or above.

The guys on the eS2 list are working with someone (maybe Mihnea, I forget) on building a distibutorless ignition for the 3B.

That said a number of folks HAVE converted 3Bs to coil packs ala AAN.- Mihnea IS working on a kit
AAN needs alot of parts from a 3b to fit into a B3/B4 - water manifold, intake manifold, etc and other plumbing. If you are putting the engine into a B4 sedan, you probably need a B3 radiator, etc...
Wiring harness connectors on the AAN are more like the B4s (92 +), so its easier to install a 3b on a B3/CQ
So you need to put it into context...into which vehicle are you installing the engine? Whats your budget?
And yet another option is a 7a head on a MC block with 034 EFI...Javad is building a new motor and aiming for 500hp.
