Default Not really what I wanted to see as I finish up adding about 110HP!

A sobering series of pics, to say the least.

Default They could likely tell how fast the car was going at impact from looking at where the gauge needles

hit the gauge face plates. Thats what they do with aircraft that don't have glass cockpits! The needle actually leaves a very slight indentation behind...

Default yea, 100kph is where the needle is pinned.. likely faster prior to impact.

I don't watch airplane crash instances... bad karma

The area covered by the white sheet is sobering, looks like a dead human being

Default Re: unfortunately, thats not generally the case in a side impact.

granted the needle is stuck at 90kmh, but that cant really be depended upon since he was out of control (moving at an angle relative to cars centerline) at the POI; the indicated gauge speed is purely the driveline/tranny speed.
suprisingly, it doesnt take too much speed to rip a car in half, just have to hit the right at the right point and angle of approach to obtain a high mass moment of inertia. And we don't need to guess what the two white sheets are covering.
it may sound twisted, but analyzing accidents like that are when i really enjoy my job
