LED Light Upgrade

Has anyone converted their rear brake lights and turn signal bulbs to LED? What are the pros/cons of such an upgrade?

Any sites that you'd recommend to purchase such bulbs?

i will eventually do just that....

you need a lot of friggin LEDs to do it right...

thoes POS LED "bulbs" suck...

im expecting to shell out around $200 for FULL LEDs (including reverse, and trunk lights...)

depends on how you do it...

its in the list of things to modify.....RISHT after the 5-lug conversion...before the strip/repaint...

i have heard that the major issue with the blinkers is finding the right resistance for the right

blinker rate... i had a link about a guy who converted his TT to LED..look friggin awesome! good lucK!

Since I made them - here are my thoughts

1. Need to add resistors to make it work with the cars systems
2. Viewing angle of LEDs are narrow and not 180 degrees like bulbs. The reflector and lensing of the existing tail light is not designed for such narrow angles.
3. wavelength of the LEDs may not match the filters in the rear lens. The Lens is designed to take the white light of the bulb and filter out other wavelengths to get the proper red. The LEDs may not be emitting in the proper wavelength and thus the light output could be attenuated and reduced the intensity of the light.
