Default so kinda a strange/disheartening experience 2night... so i go & drive to a friend's place

and since it's pretty late most roads are empty. So i decide to drive the backroads & having a little racing fun.

I don't push really hard, but I do a lot of last minute, abrupt, and hard braking (a style that I normally never follow, as i'm a "gear-downer"). So I get thru my track and out to the straight stretches where I end up @ a stop sign. And then I smell Strong burning brake. Turns out my drivers-rear pads were smoking!! they actually stuck to the disc and dragged the car. I ended up pulling into a gas station where I got out & looked at the rear brake... it was still smoking good.

So obviously after it cooled for a bit it became unstuck and I also moved the car back & forth so as to prevent seizure. Anyhow the point is WTF!?! is it my new rotors, or can I blame this mostly on the pads? crappy PBR metalmasters... or is this just a sign of crappy OE brakes not being able to handle race conditions? it's kinda aggrevating whatever the reason...

ah well, thanks for any input. i hope u atleast had fun reading my story =)

check yah later

Default Audi rear calipers are well known for sticking.

It occurs especially on the older calipers. The seals on the parking brakes mechanism breakdown and allow moisture into the caliper, allowing rust to form on the caliper piston internals :O(

By the time you notice them sticking, they are often too far gone for rebuild :O(
