My B4/90 Sport Quattro 4130 chromolly adjustable racing sway bar end links are finally done...

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/711/adjlink5.jpg"></center><p>this may be the nicest they'll ever look considering the real estate they'll occupy for the next however long.

(stock F/R end-links are extreme right/left respectively in pic)

Tomorrow I'll corner-balance the 28mm/22mm F/R swaybars on a drive-on lift with me in the car w/helment so everything is balanced, weighted and car is nestled on its suspension same as I track the car. Later this week I'll go get a full day track time with the new wheels and R-compound tires to try and break/bend or otherwise makes these fail.

Just a hunch... bet I can't!

Those are quite nice, what did you end up coating them with? I caught you weren't going to paint/plate/anodize/powder coat them, so it really doesn't leave much left besides PlastiDip ;-)

Well, if you take the 2nd L out of chromolly (Chromium Molybdenum) it's shorter ;-)

Chromoly should only have one L, nit picky I know.....

very close to Plasti-Dip. I first sanded then Prep-Sol'd them and painted them with a....

duranodic epoxy. Then I used a 3M thick wall polyolefin adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing. It's a very thick wall (.080") heat shrink tubing that conforms to minor bends/radii. When cured it sets to a very durable semi-hard, virtually indestructable finish. I've never heard of it being used for this kind of thing but just seemed like a very durable choice with a 500+ year shelf life in direct sunlight and incredibly abrasion resistant.

I'm thinking it'll outlive me but I plan on living forever so time will tell who wins ;-)

I would prefer just "4130" tubing but very very few would know what I was referring to...
