Pesky vacuum leaks...
On the 1990 CQ I noticed an elbow on one of the vacume lines that attaches to the intake manifolds right next to the ISV (post-March production Cq). The rubber appeared to be stress cracked, so I ordered a new one from my local dealer (12 bucks for a 20 cent part).
When I pulled the old one off, the inside of the elbow was gone - a giant sucking vacuum leak, not visible to the eye. Ugh.
Vacuum leaks are sneaky... they hide in the least obvious places. CQ idle is much smother now... no more hunting up and down the RPM band.
