I'm swapping decks today! My brother's Alpine head unit has been sitting in my room for some time..
If I get a $16 converter, I can turn the CD changer port into RCA inputs. RCA inputs = hard wired iPod! I'm about to order the converter, and after work I will wire in his head unit. (It's about 6 months old and came from his VW Golf that was totaled).
I'm thinking of using quick disconnects on the 10 wires that I usually just splice and clamp. Is there any downside to the quick disconnects?

there's no downside, but label the wires on both sides if you ever plan to remove it and then put it
back again.
A month ago, I added a 14-wire wiring harness to my amps so I can remove them quickly by only unplugging one unit instead of 12 wires. It works great for autocrosses...I can get the 35-40lbs out of my trunk in about 3 minutes.

Dayum! 1.69 for 10 Quickies? ****, I should distribute some stuff I get from my dads warehouse.
Some of the highest quality electric componenets that I know of. You paid alot for that. I got about 100 of each (200) for 5 bucks! Also depends on comission code too,... but you get the point. Ive never heard any complaints from any of my installs with wiring problems, unlike some of the shops around me.
