Default Arrgh... I'm going crazy!

1990 CQ. Battery drains in about one night.

Here's what I've done so far:

1. removed negative battery terminal - placed test light in series with negative cable

2. Test light glows fairly bright

3. pull fuses one at a time. At fuse 4, light goes out.

I've cut into the wiring for the rear hatch - no shorts that I can find, and even when the wires are cut, the drain continues.

I disconnected the conections to the anti-theft in drivers side rear side. Drain continues.

I disconnected the radio - still draining.

Checked all interior lights - none on.

Checked ciggy lighter - no obvious shorts.

Any ideas what I should check next? I'm stumped!

Jim

Ask Audilard...I think he had the exact same problem.

Default Alt - nah... putting out 14.5v

It's a draw when everything is off. I don't think there are any lights on the door on the Cq.

Fuse 4 is for the clock and something else. Mine actually ended up being the radio which wasn't wired to the ignition. I could turn my radio on and off without the key. When the battery went dead it screwed up something that cause my radio to drain the battery without being on. Did your battery die and is now completely dead? Did you buy a new battery?

I personally gave up and took it in....I disconnected everything and nothing worked.
