Default Pics from Heater Core Replacement

Anyone wants the details? Just took mine apart today, need to replace the core, total time to take apart (if knowing what to do) is appx. 3 hrs, while I without manual or previous experience in cores of Audi, did in about 5 +/- 30 min.

New core from local German Shop, is 100$.

Default ok, whos running the super computer?? A little liquid cooling action? I know the 3.0 P4 runs...

pretty damn hot. But im sure the 1.5 gig of ram, ATI All-in-Wonder 9800 PRO, 400W power supply, and other little goodies dont help either ;-)

Default only 5 hours?

Did you not have to take the dash out? The dealer quoted me 9-14 hours to replace the heater core!

Yeah, obviously they are working you overtime...

I've started at about 10 am and was done by 3 or so pm. Made it in time to order new part in order for it to come in next day.

I thought it was pretty complicated, but I think it will be more fun putting it back together :/

Default The dealer charges a 'booked' amount of hours for any service

though it may not take that long to complete...for example you are booked something like 3/4 hour for an oil change. takes a few mins on a lift...

Default Nah i've got a P4 3.06 with Hyperthreading, and I've got it running at an average of 82 degrees

i'm using a thermaltake case (absolutely massive) and and coolermaster "Jet" CPU Fan, and between the 2 they do a great job of keeping the computer very cool and quite. When i play things like Unreal Tournament 2004, the hottest it ever goes is 101 degrees farenheit. The temperature sensor for the CPU is place right on top of the core too so i get an accurate reading.

Default I have to do this in the next weekend or two...

I'de love to see the pics and any tips that you have. It would be a huge help. I've pulled a dash before, but never replaced the heater core.

If you got any info let us know here, or email me. mbarker56@hotmail.com

Thanks alot.
