Default comparing importvision, euro lights and RS2's-- read some older posts

and i'm not sure what to do. people seem to like the importvision lights. i actually sent money to europrice via paypal last night but now i'm having second thoughts on the RS2's just because of the cost (i would also be getting wiring harness). also seems it would be easy to get one broken by a rock or something, there goes $500...

is the price difference really worth for RS2's for performance, or are the importvision lights or euro lights very close in performance? Any comments/advice are appreciated.

Default they are better quality...

they look good, and put out a better beam. Does that justify the cost difference? I'm not sure. You pay alot for that 'extra' 10%, y'know?

Default If you are going to do it and spend a couple hundred, just step up and spend a few more...

Seriously though, people are usually pretty happy with whatever level they end up getting. I would personally probably be unhappy with the Depo's, and others are just fine and would feel like the RS2's are not worth double the price. as for rock chips, what are your feelings on the protectors? And, all the aftermarket lights (IIRC) have replacable glass, so if you do break one it'll only cost you to replace the glass, not the whole unit. I may be wrong on this, but I think that is right. on a related note: willing to spring for the mance mounts and not the RS2? c'mon, step up to the plate.

Default Anybody who has RS2 lites will readily vouch for them...

Myself included. They are well worth the dough. As to protection for the lenses, Griots Garage can help you there or 3M can also help. Both make protective clear covers for the lites. I have Griots & they do the job. Wiring is not difficult to do & so many have done it here that we can walk thu any problems. The added zest of the RS2 is that you can upgrade to HIDs in them. Ask anybody who's done it.
Drive on country roads at nite with RS2's & you'll see why they are the best. They are ****.

Default in my experience the RS2's are extremely superior to any non-projected lamp

although they are good, I have seen some newer style DOT lamps that kick RS2 ****. Even with my HID kit I still wish my lamps were like those of the B6 with HID. I have had the opportunity to drive the B6 with HID a few more times in recent history and I have to say those lights are ****!

I also have 100 watt bulbs in the B5. Not bad. But I also had 80 watt in the stockies on my B4. They weren't bad. Its freeform lighting so its hard to say whats better. See RS2's will project a beam, wherea as freeform will spit light all over.

Point being is that the stock are bad. Any e-code you go will be better. If you can throw some HID's in there, even better.

Default Re: they are better quality...

they are more than double the price of importvisions, almost 3 times the cost if you factor in the wiring harness at another 200 bucks. do i want them? oh yes! is it reasonable to spend the money...dunno yet.

Default how does "one broken by a rock or something" blow $500? Especially when replacement lenses are...

available. If they were $500 each I could more easily understand the analogy. Besides, you can always add the 3M (or other) lense shields.

One thing I do know is it "may" be asking a bit much to unring the bell on international orders once placed.

I have the "real deal" RS2's and wouldn't swap them for a pile of imitators.
