A/C system recharge?

How often do people get the A/C system serviced?

if yours doesn't blow cold enogh for your climate/taste, then do it.

Last year I put $1300 into a new condenser. Took back a couple weeks later.

It wasn't working again. They said it was down a little bit - put some more HotShot in and it was fine. They said might be a tiny leak in evarporator which (I think) is under the dash. If that's the case, it would be another $1200. Well, it's working fine, but if needed,I can put an awful lot of HotShot in before I lay out that kind of cash again.
