1PissedOff90....did you ever integrate that Neuspeed A4 short shift kit in the 90?

I installed that SS kit everybody else has, same as the one I had in my 90, and for some reason I have a hard time downshifting from 3rd to 2nd - it won't go down smoothly accross diagonal. I have to pause for a split second and almost force it back. The rest of the gears work just fine, much shorter. Did anybody else have this problem. Note also that I have a different **** that is much heavier than stock and also a shifter lever can slide deep into it so the **** sits much lower, or what appears is that I cut the lever short, even though I didn't.

It makes me wonder if you ever got that one to work.

I think I will just buy new CQ shifter ball housing which shouldn't have the play as old one and it will be smooth. I may be even eable to invent a way to raise it a bit so the throws are shorter, but I'll wait to hear from you first.

could be the linkage joint at the tranny - cheack out Mance's mod for that

I havent because I'll be using the 4000 ultra-close ratio 5-speed...

I'm holding on to the Neuspeed for a bit longer as it is the best I've ever used to see if I can integrate it to work with the 4k tranny. But looks like a long-shot. May just go the Billzcat route for his new stainless 4k short shift as it appears well-made and would definately save me some machine-time. But I cant get the man to respond to my emails.

he's been busy, he just finished the SS kit for the S4/S6s

I had his kit in my cq, worked awesome, and i ordered a new kit for the S4, should be here this week.

As am I but I've managed 3 emails in as many weeks...

and I did them from his web site. I just thought he "might" want to sell one or two rather than just run photos of them. It's a "reasonable" assumption doncha think?
