for the sport suspension B4. It more than doubled my ride height, and makes funny noises (spring binding sound) once in awhile. I really should have gotten the sport shocks.

I am confident they are installed correctly.

Default Is the part # between sport and reg. suspension the same?

My guess is that the factory sport suspension must have Sports and not HD if Bilstein lists the same PN for type of suspension on the car.

Default i have the same thing brdman......

after about 7 months of having my hd's in the front I have spring "ping" sounds here and there. the shop lubed the spring seats thinking it just dry and rubbing but after the winter the noises returned.
my front also did raise up a bit and now my back end is lower making it looks kinda stupid. you can't really tell unless you look close but its noticable

Default aww crap...... what to do ?

Are you positive ? Is there any way to find out for sure? I just bought a set of hd's, but havent installed them yet. Once I read this, I ran out and compared the original shock to the bilstein, and they were the same size... if that matters.... but who knows what that means...

Default the only change in the front suspension...

between the sport and non-sport is the shocks. Springs remained the same.

So, if you have a non-sport already, the HD's shouldn't raise your car too much. They will lift a bit, however, because of the high pressure design.

I'm just wondering if it would make a difference if I put sports in with my stock springs. Might be exactly the same.

Default I have a quattro sport...

does that mean it has sport suspension? Do you have a part number for the stock sport struts ?
I sure don't feel like doubling my ride height!
