exhaust hangers - wtf
my exhaust started scraping today so i climbed under and found both of the hangers on the mid muffler broken. I bought 2 more and hung it back up. 10 miles later, one of them was broken. I dont know if the ones i bought may have been old and dry-rotted.
Here's my question...
with any one of my exhaust hangers off, the entire system can twist from the cat-back. Is it the hangers' job to keep the system level or is it the additional weight on the hangers due to the twisting that is causing them to break?
Right now I dont have any ramps or jack stands to investigate and apply common sense. I had to back up onto a curb just to replace the 2 hangers i did.
