e brake removal from caliper
I'm putting new calipers on, how exactly do you disconnect the ebrake? Can the ebrake cam be pryed out so that clip/holder can be removed from the old caliper? It doesnt seem to budge, help! please! I've searched hours of posts......nothing!

CAREFUL? DAMN! Was just about to pull out the 15" screwdriver and take out some frustration! ok, I'm sure this is easy once you've done it, I'll wait for a tip....nice car/pic btw where is that lake?

If it's giving you fits, don't disconnect the ebrake cable until the caliper and carrier are unbolted. Usually it's not too bad; one set of pliers turns the cam back and another pulls the cable loose. You can also release the spring by holding it with pliers while removing the bolt that retains it, but watch out the spring doesn't go flying into your eye.

I can get the cable end lose but it will not pull thru the hole from the bracket, which is mounted between the cam arm and the caliper, does that make sense? do I need to REMOVE the cam arm?

thx Pete, my caliper doesnt have that spring
that retains the ebrake lever and there is a clip mounted between the ebrake lever and the caliper that the cable runs thru...no way to just pull the cable thru the clip... how do you remove the ebrake lever/arm? I can post a pic if I can find my camera lol

ebrake removal, I'm a dope!
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/91103/ebrake_pic.jpg"></center><p>I crawled under the car to take a picture. when reviewing the picture I saw the allen bolt that holds the cable clip to the caliper! It wasnt visable from the top or side (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) no need to remove the cam lever at all....here's the picture, thanks e1!
