How to program new remote for remote locking/alarm?
I followed the steps in Bentley.
1. Insert a key and turn to on.
2. Shut and lock door with second key.
3. Hit open button on remote. Beep indicates remote is programmed.
I did all that and got the beep. Even started the car and locked and got a beep from the open and the lock button. Still not working. Oh yeah, this is on the 97 Cab.

Since you have the '97+ system...
...this <A HREF="https://www.audiworld.com/tech/misc25.shtml">procedure</A> should work - just keep in mind the clicker is seperate from the keyfob (as that's for the switchblade key - but same central locking system).
