Troubleshooting needed, is the fuel pump the culprit??
Symptom: Car won't start, fuel pump seems not to run.
On my way to work the car ran perfect. When it was time to return home the car wouldn't start. With the help of the tow truck driver hitting underneath the gas tank with a rubber mallet we managed to get the car started and I drove home without problems. But now ofcourse my car stands at home dead.
When I turn on the ignition I don't hear the fuel pump engaging. As per Bentley, I am supposed to check the fuses and relay, etc. I am pretty certain they are good.
Question: Is it correct to say that when I turn my ignition on and my fuel gauge shows the correct amount of fuel still in the tank, that all my electronics/wiring are fine and that it is indeed the fuel pump which is broken?
If the fuel pump is indeed busted, do i need to buy any other parts than just the fuel pump?
Fred.
