rims and tire size? (edit)
I am looking at rims what size should i get i was shooting for 16's but my buddy says i should get at least 17's i think 18's will be to big. what will be the diffrent advantages and disadvantages with diffrent size wheels? what does the offset mean? what off set do i need? oh and will my lowering kit have a part in what size i should get?

No bigger then 17s..
16s on your car is probably the best bet if you where going to race or track. 17's and 16s should help your handling, but that probably varies between the wheel companies as weight might have a factor here in worse handling. Tires are probably the major factor. Choosing the right tire is what will count. If you want an all around setup I would go with a 16†205/?/16 maybe the Falken 512s or something there fairly cheap tires. Bigger tires if done wrong can have an effect on your speed meaning they could slow you down.

Depends on your taste and wallet thickness....
I think 17s are the largest wheel I'd put on a B3/4. Offset is the distance from the mounting face fo the wheel to the wheels centerline (greater offset=wheel is 'pulled in' more). Also keep in mind that the larger diameter the wheel, the lower profile tire you'll need to keep the same rolling diameter (keeps your spedometer accurate). Plus lower profile tires generally cost more $$.
For reference, I have 16x7.5 wheels with 225/50/16 tires on my CQ (see sig below). They JUST clear the tie rod ends; I'm drawing a blank on the offset (Hokie, jump in anytime). :P

my dad wants is as a commuter car, so we're gonna fix it
Actually there isnt that much damage, i ripped the bumper off and looked at the frame. its not as bad a i thought. IM gonna fix the RS2 headlights since both lost their top mounting tabs and one of the lenses broke, but both still work.
