Default 94 CS Quattro

Ive done a few searches. Didnt really find what I was looking for.

Im looking at a 94 90 CS Quattro. 89K miles. From a Porsche/Audi dealer for $5995. I thik I can get them down on that price. Car looks good.

But I want to know what the good, bad, and ugly are on these babies. Any bad years to avoid? Whats the real bugaboos you need to watch out for? Timing belt and water pump? I own a couple Porsches so Im familiar with that sore spot.

How reliable are these cars. I have to send my WRX back to the dealer when the lease ends in August. I need AWD and am looking at the 90CSQ and a Suby SVX. I dont want a maintenance hog. Preventive maintenance is ok, stuff that breaks or bad engineering is not ok. And yes, the Germans make bonehead engineering moves like everyone else.

Give me the low down on these cars if you would please.

The only thing I have found is that they go through alot of oil (and leaks are not uncommon).

Default Funny, mine doesnt leak or use oil excessively ;O)

Maybe because I replaced my valve-guide seals, and every other leaking seal? ;O)

Default I loved my '94.

In 3+ years of ownership (as a daily driver) she only left me stranded once due to the crankshaft position sensor. A well maintained car should be very reliable. Check for powersteering and oil leaks / consumption, as those can be $$, although 94 seems to be a good year. Feel free to ask any more questions.
