Default Rear Brakes

Well today I decided it was time to change my rear brake pads since the owner hadn't in a year or so. Once I got the calipers off I noticed that I was able to use a C-Clamp to get the pads into place. Looked as if I needed some sort of special screw in order to do it. Can anyone help me out on this?

Default Yeah go rent the tool from an auto parts store...

...or buy it from harbor freight for $20...

The piston needs to be turned and pushed at the same time...

Default You mean "was NOT able" to use a C-clamp...

You need this:

$10 at your local auto parts store.

Default Bought the box style one and couldn't seem to get it to work.

Then I got my dad to try and he got frustrated with it.

Default It is a "close" fit, not perfect but good enough. If you are really particular....

one of the pairs of pegs is too big for the sockets in our car, so one could grind those pegs down to exactly the size/shape of the sockets.

I found that one side of it works well enough though. The key is to use a lot of axial pressure and turn slowly.
