What was the deal with B5 mud flaps on B4s? Which ones fit? Front/rear?

What was the deal with B5 mud flaps on B4s? Which ones fit? Front/rear?

Or what was the trick about using them? I found a set off a '01 S4 that someone gave/left me...not that I want to use'm...but...was curious.

I thought I remember reading somewhere about using B5 fronts or rears on the B4...

...or something like that. I must be going mad..

most Canadian cars came with mudflaps from the dealer.

never heard of B5 flaps on the 4.

These still available then??? I have yet to find anything that looks half-way reasonable, and would like to protect my cab from all the rocks thrown up from my drive home....

I've got stock B4 flaps up front

and VW mk4 in the rear. the rears look better.
I picked a set of B5 S4 fronts to swap. they look pretty close so modding and they should work fine.
