80 vs 90 vs 100 vs 200 vs 4000....... benefits, negatives, reasons for purchase
Probably the oldest ? in the book but STFA and ----> no real conclusive answers. Getting ready to purchase an older Quattro - 5 speed for winter, and also for a daily driver... So, state which you would purchase with which engine and as many reasons as to why you would do so, and help a guy out.

you can get a lot of power in the 200 (20vt)
4000 is nice and light... 90 is a good size if you don't need to carry a lot of people... the B4 trunk is huge. nice creature comforts too for its age.
if you find a B3 90, there's now a bolt-on turbo option for the 7A 20v motor! that's what I would do (and want to do) were I to pick up another older Audi.
the 12V V6 is a very smooth motor and well-suited for DD duty if you're not looking for too much power or mod potential.

You won't find a quattro with a 1.8L or 2.0L engine...
...'88-'92 80/90 quattro will either have the NG (130HP 10V) or 7A (168HP 20V). '93-'95 90 quattros will have the 12V V6 (172HP). '89-'91 100s will have the 130HP NG/10V, 200s will either have the MC2 (160HP/10V) or the 3B (217HP/20V). 4000 will only have a 115HP 10V...

...probably the most rusty of the bunch. And it's by far the worst of the bunch on the highway with the 4.11 gearing...
