Complaining inside....
So..i take my CQ to the shop for some diagnostics....i just dont have the time.
What do i find out....OH..he cant pull engine codes cuz when i changed the radio, there was no mention about the "L wire!!"
DAMMIT! lol
now i gotta bring the factory radio to the shop...(with some car i dont have) just so they can have another day with it and pull codes tomorrow...crap.
...ok im done.

Did they tell you to change your blinker fluid right away?
sorry man i'm not trying to be mean but it sounds like those guys were trying to jerk you around, I would try hitting up another place if possible.

no no man...VERY cool shop...all german specific, and the guy working on my car sold his CQ to ....
...fund his UrQ project. I could be wrong on what he called the wire...but he said by bringing in the factory radio, itll save me a bunch of troubleshooting hassles, and in turn a bunch of money.
Its not a cheap cheap shop....but thee guys know what theyre talking about. It was nice to see the last year 928 GTS euro edition with only 30k original miles on the clock in the shop too. Being a porsche guy it was comforting.
I was recommended to the shop by shokan audi...which i was reccommended to by a porsche buddy of mine....apparently, im being taken care of...lol

sure sounds like you are not getting serviced right. Essentially what he is saying is that you replaced your factory radio with an aftermarket unit and he cannot run diagnostics because of that...hmmm......haha, that would be hysterical if it were true.

Dude, stay away from Chokan and honestly, you are REALLY being taken care of.
No radio wires have anything to do with pulling codes and two connectors located above your knees/feet. Check 20v.org for real.

Yeah, I think they are confused with newer models.
Still, the factory radio is not needed. An incorrect aftermarket radio install on a newer car can screw up the diagnostics. That problem didn't start until 1997 - and besides, it concerns the K line.

Explanation inside....
They are just afraid to hook up their scanner to any car equipped with an aftermarket radio.
