Anyone Removed the windshield? Proceedure and tips appreciated...

The windshield was replaced but not perfectly. It is now leaking at the top edge. I have a glass guy that will help remove it but he will need some pointers. I have an OEM parts micro-picture...

Take it to a pro or you will defintely be getting a new one! This is not for...
amateurs. It's one thing to have the mechanics micro-fiche, it's another to actually do it. The windshield on these cars are very large, fragile & ponderous. There are rivets that need to be drilled out CAREFULLY and weatherstripping and trim that needs to be removed without damage. Damage the trim and you will be having a hell of time looking for new ones, if they can be still found. If it is simply leaking let a pro find it and fix it. Use your head on this one.

Okay... where do I start... cont'd...
The glass was replaced by Speedy Autoglass last fall... the car has been repainted... now it is leaking. A glass specialist will remove the (new) windshield, but he has never seen this model... should I take it back to Speedy???
How hard is it??? More details please. What is the first step to get the glass out properly.

PITA - i cracked mine trying to remove it myself...
Only thing is you'll have to do is drill the rivets that hold the A-pillar trim...pull the rubber door seal off and you'll see what I'm talking about. make sure you re-rivet those back as they were or you will get leaks from there, BTDT.

How hard is it? Very hard and very time consuming. For the unexperienced...
it could take a whole day and that's if you don't crack it first.
If Speedy Autoglass put it in, tell them it's leaking. Tell them they put it in and show them a receipt. They crack it, they replace it.

Speedy says it's because of rust under the weatherstrip...
The tech. looked at the glass when it was dry. Yes there is visible rust behind the rubber. He says he won't guarantee the glass if it breaks during removal(re & re). My body and paint guy will repaint the roof section, No charge. The glass guy will re & re at the body shop down the road for $165 CDN dollars.
