Noise Noise...Please help
I've got two noise problems. One is minor, but very frustrating. The car was sitting for months outside and the bushings on the rear torsion bar are squeaking. Really squeaking. I've tried silicone, and it only raised the pitch of the sounds. Are their any solutions other than the obvious replacement?
The other sound is of greater concern. I get a droning sound at around 50mph. The sound is somewhat constant (described by my wife as the sound of a plane rolling down the runway right after landing). The sound is constant with throttle pressure, with some deminishing when I have no acceleration. The sound is also the same regardless of gear or rpm (manual transmission). It's change seems to be related to the speed of the vehicle. I assumed wheel bearings or tires. I had the front end checked today and the bearings are tight and the tires are good. I should add that the sound seems to have reduced as I have driven about 200 miles.
Any assistance with this issues would be greatly appreciated.
