question about LED's... FOR MY CQ!
I am working on a little project at the moment involving some LEDs... Here's the question: If you have 5 led's together in series, and those blocks of five are linked parallel with other 5 led blocks can you run a single resistor on the supply voltage line before any of the splitting takes place? I don't see why not but also I've seen that most run a resistor at the end of each series. My plan is to run the resistor in the main supply +V line to reduce voltage to ALL series blocks of LEDs. Make sense?

note the "as long as you achieve the correct LED voltage drop" part...
Use the formula E = I x R
Where:
E is voltage
I is amperage
R is resistance
Use that to figure out the size of resistor you'll need if you want to just put one in line with the whole group of LED's. Check out the link below for more info. If the draw is high enough, make sure you get a resistor that can handle enough current.<ul><li><a href="http://www.the12volt.com/ohm/ohmslaw.asp">Ohm's Law</a></li></ul>
