Question: How important is a downpipe, horsepower/flow wise?

think of it as when you were a kid...
you'd hold your hands to your neck when you didn't get what you wanted at the grocery store, mom said "no pez today nolan"
the more you let up on your neck (you didn't really choke yourself til you were purple) the easier it was to breathe. the rest of your body was workin good, but was still having trouble given the fact you were choking yourself.
downpipes are very important, it allows more exhaust gases to flow from the cat through the rest of your exhaust. as "simple" a component as it is, it may be the most important part of the exhaust system (meaning your muffler, mid-section and downpipe).
