Default Besides the price.. what sorta difference is there between an 8mm and an 8.5mm ignition wire...

and please don't tell me the diameter

The reason I ask is because I'm lookin at the magnecor wires, and want to know if it's worth it to buy the 8.5mm wires over the 8mm wires (which are already a whopping 1mm bigger than the stocks)

Thanks for the help

Default they can probably carry more current.

keep in mind magnecor only makes like 3 or 4 different cable types for use with ALL of those cars they make sets for. Some sets are better for some cars that others. Also depending on what spark plugs you have some sets might be better.

One advantage of the denso iridium plugs is that they take less voltage to fire a spark, so a smaller cable is sufficient. I plan on getting the 8mm for my 12v with denso IK 20 plugs.

Default Bigger diameter wires have less resistance across them and therefore..

have less of a voltage drop across them. This means that more of the voltage generated to ignite the plugs gets to the plugs.

Default

so do you think it will be worth the $30 difference to get the bigger wires?

Default Even though it is only a $30 difference, IMO, not worth the extra $....

unless, you want to get every little performance advantage you can and have the money for it.

Default considering the minimal gains I would see with the set-up I have right now...

you're probably right in the way that it is not worth the extra money to get these wires cuz I most def. will not see the difference in performance.

Thanks for the input
