A4 2.8 chip

What is the best chip for a 99 A4 2.8 triptronic (non Quattro)? Are there any "invisible" chips (i.e. the dealer cannot detect)? I just bought an Audi Assured vehicle with 2 year 100,000 mile factory warranty. Also, will a K + N filter void the warranty?

if you're worried about the warranty, chip is probably not worth it for that extra 10 HP.

GIAC is about the only chip for the 2.8.

All chips are "detectable" !

Any aftermarket part can create a warranty issue with the dealership.

Nuespeed makes one I think.
GIAC seems to be preferred though.
I don't believe you can chip a 2001 or >.
If you go into the dealer, you have to swap em. But most dealers don't trip, as long as they are somewhat mod friendly.
If you chip, go K&N, and get an exhaust system like Milltek, you'll probably only get 30 or 40 extra hp. If you've got cash to burn... Get the PES Supercharger, with their chip. That's the chip I want.

Why are u such a spank? I mean what good is this fourm if you can't ask questions that have already been covered. Don't get me wrong search should be used where appplicable, but sometimes new stuff comes, and not EVERYTHING is covered in the search. Besides everyone has to start somewhere, right? I wouldn't be so hard on you, but everytime someone new comes here i always see you post "Blah he is a newb, blah look at search, blah blah blah."
