Control Arm Replacement Question
I've got a 96 A4 2.8 Quattro. It has now come time to replace the notorious squeaky control arms in the front. Still am dumbfounded that Audi wont do a recall / fix the problem. Audi wants $1400 to replace everything in the front. Audi will not be touching my car as I am disgusted with the quality of their service so far. That's a whole other story. I've got a mechanic friend who will do a good job for a hell of a lot less. After reading the other posts and doing some searching looks like zzmotors is the place to go for the control arms. My main question . . . is there anything else anyone would recommend replacing while changing out all four arms. Not interested in doing the tie rod ends. I think someone mentioned replacing the control arm bolts. For right now it just looks like I need both the upper right and left control arm and two lower control arms. Unfortunately my friend is in IA so I gotta make sure I got all the parts. I appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thanks.

Will be doing the front wheel passanger side - rear lower control arm
Try www.germanautoparts.com, for my project they
have the best deal. Maybe will do be to you too.
Definetely i am doing the control arm thing with an independent mechanics. When the car was under warranty 2.5 years ago, the upper control arms need to be replaced. Guess what, it costed 1,500 dollars. Audi pay for it!
But now, i am not going to pay that amount.
Really ripp off..!

i wish i have that kind of money to do all eight..
the thing is i dont have the tools
and i need to do it at the mechanic.
By doing all at the same time will cost 465 parts
and another at least 3+ hrs labor = 200ish dollars.
Total around 665, maybe 700
I am too poor now, for that kind of money ..
Going to do one at a time as problem rise.
Soon, when i have enough $$, will do my front-wheel rear-lower-control-arm, pasanger side.
(oh well, forgive my crude description)
