350 RMS 2 Ohm amp is enough for 300 RMS dual 4 Ohm sub right?

the amp is rated 350@2ohms? is it a mono amp? if you wire the dual coils...
in parallel, the load on the amp will be 2ohms. then, if the amp is a 2ch and you bridge it, the load will be 2ohm mono (essentially 1ohm), which most most amps aren't stable to. if the amp is mono, you should be ok, and the sub you spoke of should be fine.

ok...so this is what im am trying to do...
I want to power a 10in JL W3 woofer (dual 2 or 4 ohm) rated at 300RMS and was wondering if my alpine mono amp (rated at 200RMS @4ohms or 350RMS @ohms) would be enough juice...id rather have more power than less to run the sub...TIA

how is the sub dual 2 OR 4? do you mean you can purchase it in either configuration?
for your amp you would want a dual 4 ohm. then connect both positive terms and both negative terms. you will then be running your amp at the 2ohm rating (350rms), which should be fine for the 300rms-rated sub. if you get a dual 2 ohm coiled sub, everything would be wrong, and you'd either be running to low power, or too much for the amp to be stable at. good news is it's much easier to find dual 4 ohm subs. good luck, lemme know how it sounds.

yeah i meant it can be purchased for either dual 2 or 4 ohms...cool, ill get the dual 4 sub and ill just hook the amp to to run at 2ohms and ill let u know how it comes out, thanks for ur help!
