Clutch pedal dead, hydraulic or actual clutch?
About a week ago on its way to be serviced my A4's gear shifter suddenly wouldn't go into gear and the clutch pedal was 'limp' or dead. I thought that the problem was a hydraulic link from the pedal to the clutch, but an audi service tech told me that the entire clutch assembly needs to be replaced. Does this sound right? Anyone had a similar experience? I'm really not happy about all this since the car is out of warranty and its lease is up in three weeks.... what a bad draw... Any feedback would be much appreciated.
I would find a good local audi mechanic and ask them for their price on clutch labor and if they would specifically evalaute the hydraulics first. If you need new a new clutch, South Bend and others seem to be worthy upgrades for factory or less prices. Good luck
