I just got an iPod for a graduation present... and was wondering
if there was some way that I could hardwire it into my stock bose head unit... or if I was stuck just using the tape adaptor....

here- this is a custom adapter for the stock system (but only if you have a cd changer) also- itrip does not work with the new style iPods... just the old ones<ul><li><a href="http://jbipes.home.attbi.com/ttr/auxin4.html%20">http://jbipes.home.attbi.com/ttr/auxin4.html%20</a></li></ul>

cool... unfortunately you're right... it will only work with the old ones...
cuz they did some major shrinking to this thing so it's less than a half inch thick so the plug on top is now smaller and not a regular fire wire plug...
hopefully in a lil while they'll get it adapted to the new iPod.

there is also the iRock. cheap FM modulator not hard wired (link)
can get them pretty cheap on ebay. i think they go for ~$30! the reviewer here looks like they have the system hooked up to an audi oem head.<ul><li><a href="http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/irock-review.html">iRock</a></li></ul>

of course... mine is hardwired into the CDC inputs and power hardwired to the fuse box.
