Need to replace UPPER CONTROL ARM...any adivice?

Heard some rattles from the front left suspension, and got it checked out - turns out it was the "upper control arm" as many suggested on a post from yesterday (thanks).

Any advice, how hard is this to repair for a fairly proficient car guys (I do my brakes, oil, etc. and have access to a decent shop...but I dont claim to be a mechanic)?

Got an estimate of $260 from the mechanic - reasonable?

Replacing the uppers is more challenging, to remove them you really need to take out the shock...

the inner mount is nearly impossible to get to with the assembly on the car..

the front upper can be done with the shock on the car...

if you can cut the bolt holding it on.. just buy a new bolt.. I haven't tried the rear though

would you say its a reasonalble easy job with this solution?

or worth the cost of having it done?

and if you want, i got a sig im willing to part with if you are interested...

How do you get the new bolt in? And how on earth could you get a tool in there to cut the bolt?

Seems impossible to me. Hard enough just re-torquing those inner mounts after a suspension drop..
