Default Car still at dealer for over 3 weeks now....... what could be wrong....

Hey everyone, here's my current saga i'm goin through, my car was towed in about 3 weeks ago because the clutch release bearing went bad, no big deal, they replaced it along with my clutch and such, cost me a fortune but its done and i thoght i was going to get my car back soon.

So then i drive over to pick it up and its just sitting in the service bay after they all went home for the day, apparently what happened was they cut a wiring harness while putting the transmission back in so they took it out again, replaced all the wires and then put the transmission back in and told me it was ready to go.

Again, i drive over to the dealership to pick up my car, i pay my bill of 1300 for the clutch and bearing replacement and go to drive off and as soon as i move the car i feel an awful vibration through the transmission, only happens when it is in gear though. So i climb back into the Ford Escape rental car they gave me after they messed up the wires even though my car is out of warranty and i go home.

First the tech thinks its a motormount so replaces them, then he thought it was the driveshaft so they replaced that as well and currently they still have the same problem. what could possibly be wrong with my car! they said if they still can't figure out they are going to start swapping parts out of a 2001 A4 they have on the lot to see where it goes.... is it me or is this just rediculous, they are supposed to know what they are doing, are they not??

My Car is at Cherry Hill Imports in Cherry Hill, NJ, the service people are great and Mel Feldman my salesman there is just amazing but there tech's well, need to go back to school and learn how to fix a car properly the first time.

I had the same problem! not only are they expensive some of them really dont know about cars!I found this shop in the city and the guy is good, he has a real good understanding of how car parts work ; a real good problem solver ( NOT TRIAL AND ERROR) If he dont know he will let you know not tell you to change this and that and the problem still exist plus he is way cheaper!!!!

all of their used cars on the lot have had paintwork.
they couldn't properly diagnose a faulty cylinder temp sensor in my '85 911 and had to subcontract the work out to some other place in Pennsauken

This exemplifies the problem with dealer "techs." They are FAR FROM mechanics. Mechanics diagnose problems with common sense and experience. Dealer technicians often times just replace the part the computer says is wrong. So, when something happens like this and they don't know how to diagnose it, they just start fixing things at random. The age of the mechanic is coming to a close fast, its quite sad.

Default That 3.2 911 cylinder temp sensor is a fairly common problem...

Even our small time local shop up here in Michigan diagnosed that one over the phone for me.
