The shuddering Speedo & Blinking lights...
Now on with my questions. I have a '84 4000cs Quattro with an interesting problem. When you aproach 65mph or so the speedo needle starts bouncing in about 5mph in each direction. It smooths out around 75 but I really don't like pushing the car that hard. Any ideas what could cause this?
Second question: When we start up the car in the morning or take a sharp corner the temp light seems to flash for no reason. I have checked the fluid levels and everything appears to be fine but that light insists on blinking.
Thanks in advance for any help you may give.
first thing in the morning the coolant will be lower than a warm engine.
as far as the speedo shudder could be the speedo itself or the cable

the odometer is an easy fix, but never fixed a speedo before.
if it came to that i would grab one at the local
pick n pull got a whole instrument cluster
with trip computer $11.50
4000 parts are usually quoted cheaper when you tell
the guy @ the wrecking yard it's off a VW.
is your car an 85-87?
if so the speedo is the same as the 85-87 CGT
