If you're lucky you might find some 195/55 14's out there which will definitely give you a wider footprint. It'll screw with your speedo readings a bit, but it's the widest tire that will fit on the 14x6 rims. Remember, the first number is the width of the CASING, not the tread. My friend has some 235/75 15's on his Jimmy, and the tread width is the same as my 195/60 14's on my Audi.
