Default Back from the shop

My tranny mounts were shot, actually almost broken in half and my drivers' cv boot torn. 300 bux later, and all is fixed. 3 down, 200 more repairs to go. I don't know what it is about this car, but it does cast a spell on you. The raspy 5 cylinder, the instant torque, the grabby traction...if it were any other vehicle with this many problems it would be for sale. Now on to the clutch and the fickle center diff locker.

Good to hear it is back on the road. I spent $1300 in first two weeks I owned it. I paid 2k for the car.

rear ball joints
alignment
rotors
o2 sensor
balance
diagnosis
brake accumulator
fuel distributor brain

Still love my 4ksq

Default CPU

It's funny you mention the 'brain'. Here's a whacked story...

One day, my car started to run like s**t. White/blue smoke, no power, stalling. I checked everything I could think of. Finally I took it in and the diagnosis was a bad CPU under the glovebox. The reason? A hole had developed on the right side of the car, under the hood. Water dripped onto the CPU harness, travelled INTO the CPU housing and filled it with quote, "8-oz of water". Fried that sucker right out. How weird is THAT? Thank God for Shokan...

Default Those cost some dough

Also, when I took my car in the shop for the first time, it took them a long time to figure out why the whole cpu was not working. No idle stabilizer, no timed injection. They found that the fuse for the cpu was not installed. This probably had not been in the car for years. The car was just running manually with a lobotomy.

Strange!!!!! You gotta love those previous owners
