If it is, weld a nut of the correct size over the hole,and use the original sump plug and washer, or you could get an engineering shop to insert a Helicoil insert<ul><li><a href="http://forums.delphi.com/audi80and90">Scottish Audi forum</a></li></ul>
Do NOT use the rubber plug type...they have been known to fall out!
I'm thinking a used oil pan may be your solution if you can't fix that one. Shouldn't be too expensive. Probably the same as a 4kq but NOT the same as a 5k.
This is why I always do my own oil changes.
I did consider getting a new oil pan at first but found that a new one for my 5000 was close to $150. I opted for the tap instead. I have no idea how much a 4000 oil pan is going for...
