HELP! The Audi gods are angry! Stripped oil pan drain bolt!!!!
Just got the Coupe running after about 3 months, go to change the oil and find the nice oil change service who last changed my oil left me with a toasted drain bolt. I don't think there is enough adjectives in the english language for those @ss holes! The big question, Is there any way besides removing the oil pan to fix this beast? Any help is much appreciated. Thanx!

Is it the oil pan (sump) that is stripped?
If it is, weld a nut of the correct size over the hole,and use the original sump plug and washer, or you could get an engineering shop to insert a Helicoil insert<ul><li><a href="http://forums.delphi.com/audi80and90">Scottish Audi forum</a></li></ul>

HELP! brand used to sell 'oversize' oil drain plugs that were slightly larger than oem for such emergencies.
Do NOT use the rubber plug type...they have been known to fall out!
I'm thinking a used oil pan may be your solution if you can't fix that one. Shouldn't be too expensive. Probably the same as a 4kq but NOT the same as a 5k.
This is why I always do my own oil changes.

Same thing happened on my 5000...
The local Audi wrench welded up the old hole and tapped a new plug hole. Only cost me about 1 hours labor if I remember right...
I did consider getting a new oil pan at first but found that a new one for my 5000 was close to $150. I opted for the tap instead. I have no idea how much a 4000 oil pan is going for...
