Water Pump

Water pump needs replacing on my 4000, dealership is doing the work. Hard to believe they want 800 bucks for new transmission seals, or is that about right? Suprised to see that the water pump cost me only 300.

I did it my self and it cost me $35 and an hour of time. Hey you live in Indiana, if you would of asked, I would of helped.

I know but...

Since my father and i split the cost on everything, its not really my car to tinker with, which is OK with me for now. When I get my quattro, it will be mine to fix up and stuff, maybe then you should come up and help!

Sounds high

Why would you take it to a dealer? Don't you have a good local mechanic that could do it? I paid 220 for a water pump/timing belt changeover at a good european shop.

Not alot of stuff around where I live except for the dealer itself. I normally wouldnt trust just anybody to take care of the car, thats the reason why it goes to one particular tech at the dealer. He, besides other audi owners, is the only one i would sell my car to.
