Default lots of problems, big car day(kinda long)

ok so heres my story. yesterday i decided it might be fun to tear out the sound systems from 2 of my old cars and stuff it all into my 4kq, and my new 5 cyl fuel pump relay just came in so i was gonna put that in too... it all went pretty much without a hitch until i finished up. heres the sequence of events. i wired the whole car with the speakers, head unit, amp and sub. before i tried it out the relay came in the mail so i quick went and changed it and tried it out. i turned the car on, it started up fine, revved fine and everything. satisfied, i went back to finish the audio stuff. i got it all done and tried it out and the head unit didnt turn on. so i checked the fuses, found a burnt out one and replaced it. the radio turned on fine and everything was happy. now to add more mystery to this story, behind where the radio goes in the center console theres a metal brace that has a little siver box attatched to it that plugs into this big plug. i dont know what it is. its been unplugged for a few months now and the car has been running fine so since i was in there i plugged it back in. i put the whole console back together and started the car...now it gets funky... it turned and turned and finally decided to catch but idled badly around 500rpm. so i drove it around a bit, theres a huuuge loss in power, tried it without the fuse that was bad, everything i could think of and nothing helped. then i unplugged that shady silver box and now it idles around 900 rpm but theres still MAJOR power loss. i need help!!!! my car needs help! please help me!!!!!! thanks

Default Eeek

I hope you didn't fry out something important. When my car did that, I found out my CPU had 8oz of water in it from a leak in the firewall...

Have you checked fuse #24 yet?

Default it's probably...

the big silver box is your diagnostic computer... leave it unplugged, those things ten to go insane as the car gets up in mileage. it sound like you may have killed your voltage regulator, i did that in 4kq and everytime i slowed down, the car almost died. dramtically changing the voltage flow (like with a sub and cd player) can be the last straw for the voltage regulator... you can get a new one for about $30 anywhere, so you may want to do that first.

I agree, its probably fuse 24, Its not a spare! My car would barely run without it, would not rev past 5,000 RPM

There should be a larger black box mounted under it. That's the knock/ignition computer
